What this section is about

This section shows who knows your child and who can confirm their needs. Professionals may include: , paediatrician, school , teacher, educational psychologist, occupational therapist, speech and language therapist, , MHST, social worker, family support worker, private assessor, sleep clinic, dietitian.

Avoid saying

  • No one is really involved.
  • We are waiting, so there is nothing to add.
  • Only school knows.

Better ways to explain

  • We are currently waiting for assessment/support from…
  • Although services are limited, we have raised concerns with…
  • The following professionals are aware of our child's needs…

Example wording

My child's needs have been discussed with school, the and other services. We are also waiting for further assessment/support. The lack of professional involvement does not mean needs are not present; it reflects delays and limited access to services.

Evidence that helps

  • Referral letters
  • Waiting list letters
  • Appointment letters
  • Emails
  • School concern forms
  • Private reports
  • summaries

Common mistakes

  • Leaving out services because you are only on a waiting list
  • Forgetting private assessments
  • Forgetting school
  • Forgetting old reports
  • Thinking evidence has to be recent to matter
